A retreat with the land and restorative practice on the Island of ORKNEY, Scotland

​

Longing and Belonging is a deep immersion with the land and with the life we each have been given. It operates through the theme of return and straddles the time of the Autumn Equinox. We contemplate the journey behind us through the Summer and the passage through Autumn, to the Winter Solstice and the direction of North. 

 

To return is to turn again, or to come back to something. In the act of return a sacred anchor is laid at a place in our lives. Life is a journey of many returns, culminating in the final reconnaissance with the place from which we were originally birthed. The island of Orkney in the far north of Scotland holds liminal perspectives on the realms beyond this one and long traditions of practice on this land that hold space for communication with what lies beyond. We will join together in focus and play to chase our longing for what calls most deeply to us and to move into states of enriched connection and conversations with this earth and its keepers. 

 

The retreat is designed for searchers and visionaries to go deep with the sites, spirits and ancient space holders of the island of Orkney to uncover individual and collective balance.  The work constitutes as Dreamers Retreat, North a series of 4 retreats, beginning in 2022 with West (Isle of Seil) 2023 with East (Fife) and now in 2026 the North is reached

 

This is a residential creative retreat based close to the ancient site of Skara Brae and the mystical Harray Loch, venturing into the ancient landscape, for people looking to listen more deeply to the mysteries of life, death and the land. We will be sleeping in the story fields of the Ring of Brodgar and Maes Howe. This retreat is the domain of the element of North and the mysteries of the body and of life and death. 

 

Working with the rivers and lochs, stones and mounds, past, present and future on Mainland Orkney we will preparing for the time of balance and opening gateways to the underworlds and into the cellular body at Autumn Equinox. With ancestor constellation work, mysteries of death and life pathways, portals through the body and the land, grief tending and ceremony, release of trauma holding, creative practice and deep listening.

With single roomed accommodation. Self catering for meals with ingredients provided cooking for self and together. ​
